This bench sculpture is a morph of two contrasting realities in Bergen
- The altitude graph of the 7 mountains which surrounds the city, infamous as it is printed on the t-shirts handed out at the finish line of the annual "7 Mountain Hike"
- A graph showing the city's overdose rate the past 20 years. Bergen, and especially the park Nygårdsparken, is known as one of North Europe's most open and violent drug scenes
The overdose graph follows the trail of the hike from right to left. The recent, big peak is from 2011, when 45 people died from drug induced overdoses.
Made from 3/4" maple plywood, hand shaped 100x65x35 cm
